Waters' ProSwitch-2800M modular design provides a flexible cost-saving solution for combining fiber and copper switch ports in a single chassis. By combining fiber and copper switch ports into the same chassis, the flexibility of media conversion is built directly into the switch.
Flexibility
The 2800M is a fully managed L2 chassis-based switch with three module bays that can be configured with 10/100Base-TX or 100Base-FX (multimode or singlemode) 8 port modules. In addition to the module bays, the 2800M has two 10/100/1000Base-TX ports and two mini GBIC slots which accept 1000Base-SX or 1000Base-LX SFP modules, providing a total of 26 usable ports.
Return on Investment (ROI)
Maximum LAN flexibility and ROI is achieved by allowing you to customize the 2800M to meet your exact connectivity requirements.

The Paulding County School District has been enjoying the benefits
of a scalable, cost-effective and feature-rich VoIP system for more
than three years. Take a look at this case study to see how the
Waters Network Systems/Alcatel partnership provided this technology-rich
district with the tools to implement current and future technology
applications.
"Waters was the only manufacturer that provided a fiber uplink
on a mini switch that was easily mountable and protected from outside
access. I would implement this solution again in a heartbeat.
